If you like to lose yourself in Jojo Moyes or Nicholas Sparks then you will love When I Lost You, the deeply moving new novel from Kelly Rimmer.
When I Lost You
Do you ever wish you had the chance to meet someone again for the first time?
When Leo and Molly met and married, they believed they were invincible. Together they could take on the world. But Leo,a war correspondent, lives for life on the edge, and when he takes a step into the unknown, tragedy strikes and he loses his memory. Molly rushes to help him fill in the gaps and soon they start falling in love all over again.
The trouble is, Molly is hiding something. Something big. The devoted wife at Leo’s bedside is a sham; Leo and Molly’s marriage was on the rocks long before Leo’s accident.
The closer Molly gets to her husband the more scared she becomes that he will remember. As Leo’s memory begins to trickle back will Molly lose the man she loves for a second time?
An emotional, heartbreaking read that will restore your faith in the power of love.

My review ☆☆☆☆
The book goes between two times periods – the past and the present. As Leo slowly begins to regain his memory he recalls how they met and got together. Molly tells us about their relationship and how they have been pulling apart.
In many ways, it’s the story of many relationships – all love and romance at the start -where they are willing to put aside the fact that they come from very different backgrounds. Then comes the slow falling apart as the couple starts to take each other for granted and their differences start to create a rift.
Two flawed characters, who once were in love with each other, and now with Leo forgetting their falling apart and Molly hiding her secret you wonder what will happen. As a reader you want them to get back together.
Despite the simplicity of the story telling, I was very moved by this book.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed reading the review and would love to read this book, Corrine!
Thanks, Stephen.
I’m torn – it sounds like the ending will be a bit predictable.
That said, I’m rooting for the couple, so “predictable” isn’t all bad. And your review leads me to think I’ll care enough about them to hope I guessed right, in the end, and will care more about HOW they got where they get, than merely that they got there.
The story looks so unique. I was almost in tears reading the review, I can imagine what will happen when I read the book. Thanks for sharing.
Now I want to read the book!
