Masterpiece Marriage

Book Description
He wants to save his business. She wants to be a professor. But are they asking for more than they can really have?
After a flood damages the looms at Zenus Dane’s Philadelphia textile mill and the bank demands loan payment, Zenus turns to his aunt for help repurposing his textiles. Trouble is . . . his aunt has already been hired by the lovely yet secretive Englishwoman Mary Varrs.

Eager to acquire his aunt’s quilt patterns, Zenus attends the summer Quilting Bee, a social event his aunt has uniquely designed with the secret purpose of finding Zenus a wife. However Zenus only has eyes for Mary, but Mary has no such desire for him.
Though his aunt is determined to design a masterpiece marriage, both Zenus and Mary will have to overcome their stubborn ways. Can he realize that love requires stepping out of his routine? And will she recognize that following her heart doesn’t mean sacrificing her ambition?

My review
[rating=4]
I have read and reviewed one of the Quilts of Love books before and didn’t really enjoy it. So I wasn’t quite sure about reading another in the series. I’m so glad I did.
Masterpiece Marriage has a wonderful story line, great characters and a lot of ideas that are worth thinking about. The way Zenus and Mary resisted love and how the story played out is very touching.
That Zenus sometimes uses his faith in God as a crutch and that Mary struggles not to hurt again are brought out so well by the author.
I loved  the character of Aunt Prisicilla who played a huge role in pushing both of them to discover themselves, heal from their past and acknowledge their feelings for each other.
How Zenus expresses his love by giving Mary the freedom to follow her dreams and yet committing to her tugs at the heart.
I will now be looking out for more books from Gina Wellborn and The Quilts of Love series.
I received this book from Litfuse in exchange for an honest review.
