Looking For Writing Challenges?

Did you realize that September 23rd (yes, today) is day #1 of the last 100 days of 2013. What are you doing to challenge yourself to write more and write better in these 100 days?

Pro Evenflo

“Exercise the writing muscle every day, even if it is only a letter, notes, a title list, a character sketch, a journal entry. Writers are like dancers, like athletes. Without that exercise, the muscles seize up.” ― Jane Yolen

Here are some challenges you might want to consider:

A 100 Day Writing Challenge to Finish 2013 Strong! The lovely Julie Isaac has created this. She has some great suggestions to make it work and has included a 100 Day Writing Challenge Tracking Sheet. I’m planning to undertake this, but not on my blog/s.

The Ultimate Blog Challenge – 31 Days of Blogging in October 2013. Remember we did this challenge on Write Tribe in July? You can sign up for another 31 Days on the UBC website and interact with participants on the Facebook group. This time, I will not be doing the month-long linky posts on Write Tribe. But if you need any assistance, do ask.

31 Days in 2013 – This seems like a very interesting challenge. People pledge to work on a particular aspect of their lives for 31 Days and blog about it through the month of October.

So what are you waiting for, dear readers? Sign up and challenge yourself to write!

Have you heard of any other interesting writing challenges? Do share in the comments.

  1. I will register for UBC I guess, I signed up for it in July but my computer broke down after one day and I couldn’t finish the challenge. This is another chance for me, so I think I’ll take it up. I had set up some blogging goals for myself this year, at least 200 updates. I am 71 updates behind my goal and 100 days are left for the year to end. This challenge will help me a lot for sure!!

  2. Thanks for the blogging challenge updates Corinne. Don’t be ‘a writer’, be writing says William Faulkner. What I infer from this, is that all your write-ups won’t be that great and appreciated, but some of your posts are sure to stand out
Gearing up for the UBC challenge.

  3. Corinne I am excited about the forth coming challenges.. You get splendid ideas. Corinne, what does UBC stand for? If possible I will try to write 31 posts in October.

  4. The UBC was a fun challenge. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it. I’ve met some wonderful bloggers who have sparked more topics to blog about through their comments and conversations. Thanks, Corinne, for listing other challenges for us. 🙂
